Preseason

edit

The Crew started preseason at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. They brought in some non-rostered players to camp. These players included Mark Schulte, who would later sign with the team, Lee Morrison from Portland Timbers, Mira Mupier who previously played for Charlotte 49ers, Ricky Charles who previously played for USC Spartanburg Rifles, Chris Robinson from Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Ryan Mack from Syracuse Salty Dogs who was previously rostered by Columbus in 2003.[4] The Crew then went to Spain to participate in the La Manga Cup where they played teams from Norway. After this they traveled to Virginia Beach, VA and Charleston, SC for the Carolina Challenge Cup. For these games they brought in Taylor Graham and Denny Clanton on trial.[5]
